MVK Dhekunu Transport Network began operations in 2nd October 2009 as part of the new national transport network established by the Government of Maldives. Under the contract, MVK was to provide sea and land transport services linking the southernmost Atolls of Addu, Fuahmulah and Huvadhoo. Regular sea ferries, including high speed ferries as well as land transport buses are currently in operation in between the Atolls, with bus services in Addu Atoll and Fuahmulah island.
